When I turn the key on my tractor and the shuttle is in neutral I can hear the diesel lift pump working, but the tractor won’t start. I crossed the starter with a screwdriver and the tractor started. I noticed now that tractor lift arms won’t go up or down and we’re working perfectly before, thanks

I’ve noticed that when I’ve crossed starters on jd before it seems to override the electrics I used to get starter Moter repaired problem solved!

Can you remember was your lift arms working when you crossed the starter? Thanks

No it wasn’t I’m nearly certain

Could be the starter relay.

6800 has eaten a few of those over the years but 6410 never been changed here. Link arms would be unrelated to starting issue, but I would check fuses and wiring to starter to begin with, along with clean battery terminals.

Now Then..
I would check the fuses first. Do the lights on the dash come on when you turn the key?? Also, check the road lighting, blower and wiper etc. It all helps the diagnostic..

Checked the fuses for on the board and they are all working the wiper and blower is working too

Battery terminals are clean and tight and all fuses are good on board

Sounds like you might have done something to the BCU which is behind the seat. (Basic control unit) to stop the linkage working.

You’re dead right Spuddler, its at the back of the right hand footstep, a black box before going into the white one there’s a boys keeping it together and came loose thanks for the help, greatly appreciated
