John Deere 6630 Lighting

Hello ,

I thought this would be the best place to get a quick answer.
We recently purchased a John Deere 6630 standard, over the weekend I was giving it a tidy up and when I removed the indicator/ parker light bracket (on each side of the cab near the hand rails) I noticed a few extra plugs in behind the cover.
Is the purple and yellow wired plug what provides power to the extra worklight the premium model has? It has 12 volts across it when the lights are turned on. If so what fuse does it run off?
I'm hoping to fit some LED worklights to each side.

I'll try upload a photo later when I have access to a computer to try and make it clearer.

Thanks in advance

They are for extra work lights, you can buy a kit ready to just plug in. But it comes with relays to plug into the fuse box to complete it.

ARW thanks for your reply, much appreciated. So it's not a matter of just plugging a light in on each side then? I just presumed that the power is already coming through a relay back there somewhere already. Can you only get the kit from John Deere or would it be easy enough to put you're own together

interesting, did you try turning the lights on and off to see if the feed corresponds ? if so i would imagine the relays are already there? so should be a case of finding a corresponding plug to wire onto the end of the led work light?

Gday trook135 I had another look at the plug and wiring last week, and also called into our local JD dealer and had a look at their schematics. You do need to install a switch and relays from what I was looking at on their computer screen, but what gets me is that the plug does have power to it already and turns on and off with the headlight switch, so when we have another rainy day I will try and pull apart the Delphi plug that is on there already and install a normal Delphi connector that you can buy off the shelf, not just from JD! Hook a led light up and see how it goes.
I purchased some 42watt LED worklights and swapped over the front cabin worklights, what a difference they make! Plan on doing the same to the rears on my next lot of days off. Very simple to do , I only had to wire a Delphi connector to the lights and fabricate a bracket up as the LED lights are a bit larger in size.

Thanks deere66, I think you are correct they are for the mounted headlight, one plug is for low beam the other for high beam? It is in Australia so it may be a bit different.
I've attached a photo of the new 42W LED lights that have replaced the 55W Halogen lights on the cab, they are great. I purchased another 2 to replace the rear worklights.
