I have a JD 6820 that has developed a fault when using foward/reverse lever It is very slow to move off in either direction. If you use the 'clutch' pedal sometimes it bites straight away and others it needs two pumps of the pedal to move away at normal speed. Any help much appreciated

You could try getting it calibrated but anything over 7k hours and chances are it would benefit from a new modulation valve, especially if it’s forward and reverse.
If it was just one direction (not the band🙄) id say it could be the plates on the way out however if it’s both clutches I’d be more inclined to say it’s the valve.
It’s also worth giving the transmission oil a change if it’s not been done for a while, check for any debris of burnt smell.

I have now changed the Valve and it has made a small improvement, but not as it should be. Filters and oil changed in trans and suction pipe screen/filter was removed and was spotless.
I guess i need to get it calibrated ! Is that a dealer only option?

It will definitely need a calibration if you’ve replaced the valve see post #8
