Seen a 6920s for sale. 03, 3500 ish hours, Auto quad 40km, Left- hand reverser. Is for sale for 30k...Should I have already bought this? What is the difference between the autoquad and powerquad gearboxes?

the price seems maybe a little steep but if the hours are genuine (not 13500) and its a very clean tractor then its probably about right / top end of where it should be, the 40k gearboxes arent quite as valuable or sought after as the 50k gearboxes, the low end ratios were better in the 40k for field work in my opinion but you dont get the luxuries of having proper front wheel brakes

The only difference between autoquad and power quad is the extra button on the shifter, so it automatically changes up through the splitter gears, power quad you have to manually change up or down through the splitter with the buttons. It doesn't make too much difference which one you get or use, really, i tend to use my autoquad box manually most of the time anyway!

The problem us bottom feeders face, is that new equivalent to OPs machine would need 100k to buy one.
If you had a good trouble free one, that you had sorted the known issues, with lowish hours on, would you sell it? They are still a nice enough place to sit for a day.
I wouldn't.

They are about but you need to try very hard and have plenty of time but I understand your comment.got a 15 year old telehandler here with way less than 3000 hours on it.that took some finding too when I bought it
Nick...
So there aren’t lots? :ROFLMAO:
dreamy when you find one but I have spent years looking for nice bits of kit and it’s so hard

How much did JF want for that 7810?
See, I know every one wants nice low hours, but even a 20 series with 3500 on is going to be mid £30s from likes of Stephensons et al and a 30 series into low £40s.
Are they necessarily a better buy than a still tidy, well kept machine with twice the hours for £10k less and have the money by you to fix what's inevitably going to be needed on either choice?
These beauties just as likely come from dealers as underwrites with no more history than what was done whilst under JD care and is recorded on their system.

Bought this old junk from auction in Norway. Turns out 5100 hours in 18 years are real. Some rust management, paint and she will be good
