John Deere 6r turbo actuator

Hi all,

We’ve got a 6150r with the dreaded turbo actuator fault.

Has anyone found a supply of just the actuator? Is it a case of putting the new one or has it got to be plugged in to calibrate it?

Cheers all

John Deere have just upgraded turbo and fitted new manifold and support brackets for turbo supposedly on them keeping an eye out for bill. It is a 63 plate 3500hrs.
If yours has not been modified might be worth chasing them .

Done a couple of years ago as a JD mod. 2012 6190R with 7500 hours on now.

I’m currently going through this episode with my 6210r with 5400hrs on the clock.

Started with turbo actuator communication faults then would throw up 5more codes. Fuel dosing, fuel pump etc etc and de rate the tractor. We have replaced a terminator, actuator and fuel dosing pump also changed out ecu. Haven’t done low pressure pump yet but last step for the tech is wiring loom.

What fixed your guys issue?

hi you may find their is a plug for the engine sensors earth wire return to the controller between the firewall and cab windscreen section giving a loss of communication

Hi does anyone repair the actuators?? Or is there a cost effective replacement I hear they are very expensive from jd. It’s starting to stick an odd time on my 6150r 8000hrs it’s an intermittent fault with last two weeks. Tia

Thanks. If you have the time for better photos so I see what is changed. I think my 150R did not get it at its 1st owner.
This is the support bracket for the manifold
Mines a 6170 R I’m guessing it’s the same on smaller models but I don’t no
