John deere 832 sprayer with el4 control box

Just been and looked at a john deere 832 sprayer with el4 control box .... was on a new john deere and there was a lead that went to the isobus connector.. I think there was only 3 pins in there so I'm assuming u could replace it with a cobo 3pin power plug as we don't have isobus connection.

Also does it get the speed reading off its own axle?
Got home and just thought hope it's not reading speed through that plug
Thanks

Now Then..
What tractor are you going to put it on?? That's an ISOBus socket in your pictures, they carry a speed signal as far as I know. There could be a bigger electrical draw than the Cobo style plug can provide. You can buy an ISObus lead and I assume get the speed signal from the tractor into it..

Wheel on sprayer gives speed reading. EL 4 will definitely run off 3 pin cobo plug. We have the later box in our 732 which runs off cobo and had a EL4 box in our previous sprayer which was 3 pin cobo

Thanks for that, I'll just put a cobo plug on it ... do you like your jd sprayer? This is our first trailed sprayer as we are taking more land on and going down liquid fert route so wanted to up capacity from our 1000ltr 18m mounted sprayer and this jd832 was to good not to get

Mainly be on a massey 6170 , so there's no technology on that 🤣 luckily Jeremy says the speed sensor is on sprayer its self and the isobus is just for power, my power sockets are wired direct to battery

Both have been excellent. Nice and simple and low running costs, would probably have another. Had our 724 for ten years only ever put nozzles and one set of diaraphms in pump. 732 has been faultless for six years so far.

In the isobus plug in the picture above that is only supplying power. The 2 large pins are 60 amp supply and the 2 smaller pins are 25 amp supply.

the pins at the bottom arranged in a smily face are the communication pins

So turns out that just before I said I'd buy the sprayer a different rep sold it , very annoying but been offered a good deal on a 732 instead , only thing is it is set up to go on a higher hitch above the pto , does the drawbar turn over to be standard? Looks a lower sprayer so better for not tipping over

FYI......
There looks to be alternative drawbars...

Drawbar turns over either way. On second sprayer (732) I opted for the continental scharmuller hitch as I found the steering was very jerky on the old 724 as lots of play in standard pickup hitch ring. You also get less crop damage with higher hitch. It's easy to fit onto a jd tractor but I had to make my own hitch for our new holland tractor as they don't make a ladder hitch unless you remove standard pickup hitch on a new holland! I can send pic if you like. The scharmuller bracket is expensive circa £1000 that fits on top link fitting.
