John Deere autopower olie temperature

My recently purchased John Deere 7920 shows high temperature for the transmission olie when doing road work with heavy loads. Yesterday when moving some grain with my hook lift trailer ( 35 tons total weight) it showed +80 ' c.
this is my first autopower tractor so haven't got a clue if it's normal. But my autoqard tractors will only show 65-68'

The dealer said don't worry if it's below 100[emoji15]

But I think it's way to hot, what is others 20 or 30 series running?

Regards Jacob.

Isn't the 81 in your photo the engine oil temp not transmission ? Could be wrong though , I just thought the transmission was a different symbol

Now Then..
Transmission / hydraulic oil temperature symbols vary between models. In this case its correct at 81°C which does seem warm.
Is the coolant level correct and near the Max mark.??

Pretty sure the 7920 will be a front mounted oil cooler rather than a heat exchanger like a 6020/30, so coolant shouldn’t affect oil temp like it does on the 6 series.

7920’s used a viscatronic fan drive which had a habit of failing, engines temp is up a little bit that’s to be expected if pulling hard. However a failing viscous would affect engine and transmission temp.
Probably a daft question but are the rads clean? There’s quite a few on the front of them to get blocked up!

Come to think of it, is it a 7920? That display is from a 6030 series!

ps or is it a geenstar display?

pss, are yes at a second glance it looks like a 2600 display ?

Yes I am pretty sure it's the oile temperature, it shows the same in the small display on the side panel.

All the coolers in the front is clean, washed out with water. And the fan seems to run quite ok. When you stop and level the engine running, you can feel that it's sucking air though the coolers. But the Oli cooler is too hot to touch.

Can you hear the hydraulic pump change note when you operate an scv? If the pump is stuck at full pressure it can heat the oil up.

Also having it over full with oil can get it hot when on the road. Another thing to check if it’s new to you, are you sure it’s got the right grade transmission oil in?

Will try that tomorrow, however it has plenty of oil and power on the scv.
The Oli is in the middle of the sight glass and I changed it when I purchased the tractor. The oil is UTTO GL 4, 80W
standard JDM J20C + D
