Recently purchased a 2002 john Deere 568 fixed chamber round baler. Makes a good bale but after 400 bales the alarm to say the cycle had finished didn’t sound and the bale ended up with thousands of wraps on it.
Basic switch box (on/off, three green knobs and actuator up/ down switch).
Any one had any trouble like this before???

On our 578 you had to take the knife off and give it a good sharpening and always make sure it was shiny, no rusty marks or dullness whatsoever. Also check the net brake block if worn it won’t work effectively.

What sets how much net is put on the bale? There must be a speed sensor on the net rollers to determine when to release the knive. How does the control board in the box on the baler look?

This wont be you issue I hope but I did this once and I had routed net the wrong way over rollers.
100% operator error and there is even a diagram to follow.
We had a camera put in top box so we can see what is going on. Gives confidence.
