John Deere canbus and led beacons

Old halogen beacons gave up the ghost (too many low hanging branches out on the hedgecutter [emoji53]) bought a new pair of led versions from 247 lighting for way less than the john Deere ones from the main stealership however the canbus system is throwing up error codes, It does the same on both my 6530 and 6150R both came with twin beacons as standard on pole/spigot mounts

does anyone know the current draw of a standard halogen beacon compared to an led one? Or have a link to a resistor that will work to cancel the error code.

Yes it's all unlock codes needed single to twin beacon, activating 7 pin socket on front linkage. It is alittle short sighted I feel pee a customer off for £80 unlock code when he has paid over 1000x that in the first place. Crackers.

Fair enough sf1 to 2 or activation for 3rd party gps etc but a lighting socket or beacon couldn't be bothered and if honest most dealers couldn't it's big green brother.

On the alternator?? Any more details on that one?
Look on the back of the alternator, car ones have a little resistor that crosses over from the live to the earth, it's purpose is to stop that sort of sh!t with led's, our local auto electrical supplier showed me when I mentioned radio interference from an LED beacon. Something to do with harmonics I guess.

Brynseri - on the 30 series JD many accessories are current measured by the central electrical unit rather than a relay and fuse. The system will shut them down if under or over current draw is detected- the beacons being a favourite. The diode on the alt is for reverse current protection and irrelevant in this instance.

Adding a second beacon and getting the fault code is work-around-able by using a relay for the second beacon with its 12v supplied from the wiper motor, but wont work with LED's as draw is less not more.

You will need to know the address to go to in the CEU and change it, or a dealer for 5 mins with the service advisor.

the 6150r addy will be RLC 56 change to 22 for xenon beacons.

And the 6530 depends on the software version you have but the above relay will soft it as well.

Both already had twin beacons and where in the menu does that come in, having a mooch around whilst sat in the drier

Can't find 56, menu skips from 54 to 64?

Ok.. That will be because you arent in Tech mode or you cant do it thru the command centre only SA.

Code means low current at the beacon. So you will need to adjust that setting in the RLC controller as above
