John deere ivt

Looking at second hand tractors , was avoiding ivt models as the horror stories I read on here if they go wrong . Had two sales agents now tell me that I should not worry about 30 series ivt as much better than 20 series and can do big hours.
Just wondering if this is just a sales pitch or if the newer ones are actually more reliable and should be considered . Bear in mind that my budget only allows for something around 6500 hr Mark unfortunately.
Thanks

I have had a 7530 from new, with nearly 13000 hrs on it now and has been no bother yet but has been driven well and serviced even better.

Neighbour just recently swapped in a chipped 6830ap with over 13k hours on it, all it had in that time was a set of brakes, egr valve and a turbo. It was just getting ready for another turbo! Also had the odd electric gremlin starting to pop up.

Biggest problems with 30 series are head gaskets, turbos and egr valves. Of the top of my head I can’t think of any autopower failures in a 30. I’m not saying they don’t happen but I come across a lot of jd’s and not had any issues.

Contractor I use for bailing only has ap jds and he loves them, some with big hours and he’s has no issues, he does rigorously service then by the book though.
