John deere parts - gear shift cover

Hi.
I need a cover for the gear shift console on a 1950 John Deere. The part with the selectors seems fine. It is the housing that has failed.
Where is the best place to get them - or even the proper name for the part would be a starting point.

I can't imagine anyone is going to strike up and make something like that for what would realistically be a low volume sale.
With some skill and cunning I think one could make something from sheet steel..

its 70 years old, £156 really dont look that bad for a panel! be thankful its even available as a new part!

1950 is the model number.

Will probably end up fabricating something to hold the shift gate in place - it's only really the top part that is broken.

Nick Young specialises in used JD parts, not promising, but they may help.

I've sent them an email, so awaiting their response.
Also sent one to John Conaty who does a lot of breaking and parts.
