Has anybody else bought a new r series in the last year and has a issue with the cab suspension knocking? My 6175r is nearly a year old and I have been waiting for John Deere too have a cure for my issue since months. The base plates on the rear of the cab have bowed when cab was being made and it makes the cab sit off too the side, they have been out and tried straightening them but that wasn’t possible

Get them to sort it out, it’s under warranty and I don’t imagine it’s going to cost a fortune. Your dealer principle needs to be in the picture at this stage. It’s a premium tractor at a premium price and you want premium service!! Now as Basil Fawlty said “kick his/her bottom”?

Problem is the plates that have bowed on either side of cab have when they were welded on at the factory so they just can’t go take them off and change them. At one stage the cab was going to come off and 2 guys were coming from the factory too chop them off and put new ones on but that got cancelled as more tractors were found with the same fault. Latest is and I’ve been waiting a while that jd are making offset brackets too compensate but seem too be taking ages. Really the cab is at fault but I’d rather not have them tearing my cab apart and changing cab frame

It was mainly when turning round one direction it would knock doesn’t do it often no because the washers help but does it on a side slope

Formal letter to reject it? Or seek a new replacement tractor as enough is enough as either it's right or it's not?

It's an integral part of the cab and it's faulty. I am sure HSE would love the bodge with some washers and has that been tested as a cab modification and limits the surface bearing area of that plate as designed to sit flat and not on washers?

It’s just a bit of a ball ache tractor is great but this one problem service manager is waiting for jd too come back with there supposed fix but it has too go through homoligation first. What ever it is it’s not going too mate up with that bowed surface. seeing I’ve had the tractor nearly a year I can’t see them replacing it more like they would want too change cab frame. When the washers are taken out the gap opens on the rh side, it doesn’t also help there 2 bolts on the lh side of bracket and only 1 on the rh side. Either some twit never secured the parts in the jig properly or the welder was too hot during manufacture very poor it not being noticed

Almost think a bolt would all but pull that flat down with a big enough windy gun but the bolt would be under massive tension and probably strip the threads. In a few years time with no warranty a bit of heat would help but this tractor is still only in its first year
