I heard of a guy back in fergie days at balgownie he had a tractor in for repair and stopped in past one day to check on progress, upon arrival he found the mechanics lying outside sunbathing and his tractor still sitting in bits.
But tbf that's before they had the much needed clear out of staff at the time

Staff are entitled to their lunch / tea break, if they choose to spend it sunbathing that’s there choice.

At least he didn’t stop by 2 weeks later and they hadn’t even looked at it, like our MF.......

Delt a lot with balgownie in the last 7 years after a color change and find them very good to deal with. I'm not saying there haven't been issues but they hav always been true to there word and fixed any problems. A recent deal I did I priced all the local dealers and they were cheapest.

I’m up here too. And as you said it used to be a shambles but not necessarily now.
This thread is turning into the biggest gossip spreading thread and untruths of all time on TFF.
I never even knew there had been 2 regimes!? I dealt with older generation when I had problems. Be over 5 years since I dealt with them.

Went downhill when Gordon Morrison left in left in my opinion. I had a good working relationship with him.

It’s not just John Deere looking at super dealerships as I heard today Agco are also looking very closely to doing exactly the same with Valtra apparently as wanta take the selling and servicing in house to secure ongoing service and Valtra UK reps are hinting to customers that the southwest will probably lead the trial shortly as there’s work in progress . Any one else been told the same

I can see Valtra sales shrinking if they do that, they don’t currently have a very big market share but from what I see do have some small but dedicated dealers who look after their customers.
I don’t see large centralised dealerships increasing their sales.

He was(is) a good guy, was at Hrn Kinloss 18 years ago when we first bought a new tractor from HRN.
