John Deere reducing dealerships

Its Massey at Balbeggie and Stirling and Case ih for the Aberdeenshire branches.
Can't see it. I phoned them last week to tell them I wouldn't be buying a john Deere they'd quoted me on.

I'd previously told same person I would be interested in buying a case from them if they got case franchise.

I think that would have been a appropriate time for them to say something if they knew they were getting case next week? We bought a blue cnh tractor.

I've thought Case would be best brand for them to take on. Seemed even more likely after sharmans taking on Case.

Who knows? :scratchhead: who cares?‍♀️

I think they'll still be selling JD in some form or another.

I asked same question and got the reply we (Hrn) will be selling a quality brand I know we certainly will not be buying CaseIH from them if thats what transpires and I’d say in Caithness they would struggle to sell case but that’s just my opinion. Be interesting to see what comes out next week. We run 7 John Deere’s here and it is a concern to us that at end of year our nearest dealer is either a ferry ride away or 200 miles by road.

Well I would presume scot jcb will cover the North East from Aberdeen and muir of Ord,
I was in a discussion with a member of Phillips management and he said that folk had been giving Phillips a bad name in the area.
Tbf, they were doing a good job of that themselves

lets hope that recent announcements for our area of heather an trees is a good sign.
possibly speculation on my ( an others) part, but it was looking like we were been abandoned by JD in this area after years of support.

There really should be communication from JD on this by now. If they can’t sort it out with HRN (which would be the best outcome we could hope for) then they need to appoint another dealers for the area and get them up and running by the termination date of current contract. It’s no use leaving us in limbo with no parts back up etc if a new dealer has to scrabble around for a yard and staff. Lots of uncertainty and concern from dealer staff too. Not just the JD dealer all the other companies mentioned in this thread have staff wondering if they are getting the rug pulled out from under them.

Out of curiosity have HRN released any communication regarding their position? I would’ve thought that any talk from JD could only come after a dealer made their position clear. Maybe they have, i dont see it anywhere on this thread though. I think it was only after Sharmans went public with their new franchise that JD went public with their future plans with another dealer, could be wrong though. I totally agree that other dealers and other dealer staff will be nervous of their future. I guess HRN will be a big draw for any of the big tractor players?
