John Deere reducing dealerships

You would think they would announce something soon. Know of a guy who bought 2 new fendts because didn’t know what was happening. Said he couldn’t risk buying Deere because of the uncertainty. Don’t blame him

That rumour is definitely being spread about round here, but I have no idea if there's any truth behind it.
Its not just MF , but JCB, Horsch, other franshises, etc that will all be changed about if its true.
Its bad enough trying to figure out who to phone for bits as it is.

He's good. I just find everything massively overpriced, I used them for jcb parts. Order most parts online now.

It's a shame they took the van off road for delivering parts. Was handy for us down here.

I too now source parts online, recently bought sensors and switches from Southern Ireland, delivered to my door by postie, sometimes next day. That’s excellent service.

He is, lot of folk don’t like him but I do, Philips store is a disaster now though. Used to have everything but now it all has to be ordered. Have no Horsch bits in stock so it’s not handy if you are broken down and takes 3 days to come from Germany

Mike still there, but they've put him off on Furlough for a month.
Hes about the only one left with any sprayer knowledge on the parts side.
I get on grand with him, good lad with good knowledge, sometimes a bit dour, but so am I a lot of the time.!
The store there isnt a patch on what it used to be, Ive moved a lot of my trade elsewhere.

I know what you are saying about uncertainty but to buy any make at the moment has an amount of uncertainty about it. Just hope it get sorted out soon as absolutely anything can happen just now as regards dealerships.

What manufactures seem to forget is that customers build up a trust with there dealer. There is a good chance lots will change brand to keep with the local dealer

Very much so, and the opposite, locally we have nearly every brand in the nearest town, there is one I try to avoid at all costs, (the parts staff are atrocious) they sell red, and green tractors, but even the implements I would avoid if they are the main agents.

Yes there are some you just drive on past we have a local one gone to a five day week now I reckon they may as well lock the doors

I think Ford got out of tractors some years ago.......

and yet in the east of Scotland you can still get parts readily from the same dealers that used to sell them for those machines with support from mechanics that served their time on porus blocks. Great firms.
