Nairn will be close enough for you guys wont it? Wonder what will happen here?
🤔 35miles.... just on the limits of how far I’d go to stay green.... and it would certainly put them at a far higher chance on loosing out on a sale vs the dealers that are within 10-14 miles. Service would need to be excellent with sensible call out rates.

To be fair, @Chae1 has been a bit of a flat earther on this one from the beginning:)
The only silliness has been speculation around what HRN will sell next. The JD, HRN, Netherton side of it turned out pretty much as said on here.

Only real option available to JD once HRN told them to stick it. No way either of them we’re going to back down.

Sad thing is I bet whoever in JD UK who came up with the idea of taking Perth area from HRN to give to Nertherton did it so both could keep their dealerships and so match the ÂŁ100m turnover or whatever it was the mothership demanded.

A good hour from Easter Ross,,,but closer than Fendt and Case. Claas and Massey still in decent distance though and of course Deutz as well but we don’t really want to loose any more dealers tbh

The latest rumour mill has it that HRN are not going to have a tractor franchise and are going to be operating on a Morrison Motors type basis, selling quality used and possibly new tractors sourced from their network of contacts in the industry.

Can't see how that would work really with warranty etc, plus it will pee off the franchised dealerships, to be fair it works for Morrison Motors, but I guess the car game is completely different.
Could well be complete pie in the sky rubbish though as rumours often are.

Can’t see the new sales thing happening , first new tractor in the area , from any brand, will swiftly be spotted and traced back to the original selling franchised dealer. The manufacturer will
swiftly put an end to the supply of new tractors to them if it’s impinging in their established dealer in the area.

Parris gets away with it, putting 500hrs hire on them first.

That could work, they could become the underwriter of the north. Stop everything going to mark hellier/witheridge and carry on bringing stuff up from the south. Works for sales but what about the workshop? Do they drop their prices and start competing with the local white van man who will fix any colour. And the stores. Do they keep bits for every brand. Hrn refused to supply 2 independent jd mechanics (ex hrn staff) with parts. They then went to south dealers to obtain parts. When hrn found out who was supplying them they told jd another dealer was supplying new parts into their area and the south dealers were told to stop. Surely netherton will so the same if hrn try to become independent jd specialists?

I think you are right.

I also think it's illegal.

KV, Bailey, Opico/Heva and Bunning possibly all got decisions to make regards who their franchised dealer in the north of Scotland will be.

Like HRN, Netherton hold them all in their other depots.
