JPM low loaders - any good?

I’m looking at changing in my 26ft bale trailer for a low loader to move swing shovel and telehandler around, as well as moving bales still. Good idea?

JPM seem well priced, what’s the verdict on them? I’m not expecting it to be as well made as some of the more expensive trailers but it won’t be in daily use. Cheers

You will be told they are fine. For most use they probably are, Bro in law took a 14 ton JPM dump trailer and filled it with washed gravel and bent the drawbar like a banana. Yes it probably had 16 ton on, but no chance of a NC or Kane doing the same.

Stick to its ratings and it’s probably okay.

Thanks for the reply. To be honest, if I could find a semi decent used trailer id be more likely to go for that than by a new JPM. There doesn’t seem to be many around though!

Wouldn't bother.. ours is 10 years old, no floor left and steel chassis is rotten right through. Far too bendy with any weight on and axles too narrow. Think it was 10k with hyd ramps and oil/air, commercial brakes and fat tyres so good spec. Just a pity the shot blast and painting is so poor or they would do a reasonable job. The macaully that we also have is much stiffer and better painted but the axles are a pest with brakes sticking on.

How come all the used dealers have a yard full of this stuff that’s new and unused to sell if it’s poor quality? Mcleans seem to have shares in the company they have so much.

We have done similar here but we have got a HM 26ft bespoke low loader, it was very well priced considering we had it finished to a high spec etc.

Doubles up as spray bowser and a seed cart

I had a 26ft. Paint was sh!t. Was to heavy on back and used to roll away when I hitched. Used to bang on the road. Right hand ramp fell off. Was ok. Sold it and bought a tri axel Bailey with rear steer and double fold ramp. Game changer. Fantastic trailer. Put it in to any corner full of straw or handler on it and doesn’t move a inch

Only problem is a lot of the other manufacturers are likely to be well out of my price range, which is what attracted me to JPM. But if the steel/paint is poor it won’t last 5 minutes with me, everything gets damp here and the roads are gritted a lot of the winter, my old Marshall trailer looked like Swiss cheese when I sold it.

Any recommendations for decent used? Maybe older steel will be slightly better quality!

Don't rule anybody out on price unless you've rang and priced them. Cheap are cheap for a reason and dear ones maybe don't cost as much more as you think especially if really look into details of spec. Everytime a which trailer thread comes up i think the same thing. Axles tyres braking system lights are all bought in parts from 2 or 3 different suppliers and not many pennies between them. The rest is steelwork and there's only so many ways you can weld some box flat angle plate etc together to make a box to carry stuff. Paints probably the most important thing. It's not so much finding who makes the best trailer but avoiding the ones who don't.

I have a jpm bale trailer. 32 feet, air and hydraulic brakes and led lights. Only had it a year but pleased so far, happily haul bales a 20 mile trip with it.

Got a tri axle JPM loloader here , it tows well and carry weight well is sturdy etc but look underneath and the welding is shocking and the rust is taking hold quick for a 7 year old trailer

Have endless problems with lights not working and hydraulic hoses bursting.

The bed high is nice and low and the ramp angle is good for loading diggers , but the build quality just isn't good at all.
