June Reseed.

Always reseed in the autumn but last year weather made it impossible. I’m really tightly stocked on the milking platform so can’t balls things up. If I sprayed off a field tomorrow, started grazing 4 days later, finished grazing after another 4 days, disc and sow seed would I have quick establishment? Realistically, when could I expect to graze again? If we get a hot and dry June,is there enough moisture in the ground? Is spraying and discing a good way to reseed? Always ploughed.

Or just overseed after grazing hard rather than spray that’s what we’ve tried this year on one field see how it goes

I’ve tried it in a few with cheap Italian to try and build stocks up again. I’m not sure it works particularly well without some spray. A bit that was sprayed off had grown like stink, can’t say the same for the I sprayed area…….Just not going how I’d hoped. Might show more in second cut provided it lives that long.

A dry spell is bad news for June reseed. Might end up with no grass till end August.
IMO Early aug is the best time to reseed. - weeds are ready to spray end sept. Eat down with sheep Oct / Nov
Ready to fly next spring
I always leave it to mid September.I need the grass. Weather doesn’t always play ball
