Just how comfortable are 4000 series Fastracs?

Think they are reasonable do you?

Most people sell tractors at low hours when there are thousands of hours worth of work left in them. Many claiming tax benefits. Even though nobody's making any money!

It would make more sense to pay a few repair bills or fit new tyres. If new ones are so expensive.

Second hand tractors are reasonable, look at the 7626 in classifieds.

Last 'new' tractor we bought was ex demo 130 hours from 100s of miles away and 30k cheaper than we had been quoted for new tractor same spec.

Heard some farmers using brexit as a excuse for buying new machinery!

It's going to be so bad after, they want to tackle up before to ride out the storm

Quite possibly , reading some mag on the plane coming back from france tonight suggesting anyone with a house there should be it situ the day we leave ... ffs project fear has gone mad .

Auto tyre inflation systems will enhance your comfort more than anything running tyres at the correct pressure for the job makes so much difference to comfort and performance of the tractor . Suspension bushes should be treated as service items aswell and changed at sensible periods its amazing how much they harden up and loose the spring without you realizing it.

Spent a lot of time on 939’s with evo seats, 724’s, JD7930 with active seat and had a 4220 for 3 days on demo.
Comfort wise I’d rate them
1. Fastrac
2. 939
3. 7930
4. 724

Was on a new Holland for a few days year before last and that didn’t do my back any favours, spent a few days on a JD 6215 last year and that was on par with the 724

We are running a 4220, mostly trailer work. It's a massive step up in comfort from the previous 2140 which itself was way better than a normal tractor. Heavy loads on rough ground the 4220 soaks up the hits as fast you dare drive. Has to be tried to be believed. We do have the 800kg weight behind the cab which likely helps. 4ws makes a complete fool of a normal tractor for reversing trailers and the seat turns almost 90 degrees. A couple of stupid niggles, pickup hitch fouls most of the useless bulky designed drawbar setups. A joke, as two brand new bits of kit can destroy each other. nc and maccaully are trouble here. john deere hitch clears ok. I don't like the forward raked windscreen, the glare from behind you is very annoying and the bonnet is far too needlessly fat. You can't see the loader attachments and they sell it as a loader tractor! If that is not a health and safety factor, what is? overall the 42 whips the competition for nearly every job.

The most comfortable tractors I’ve driven on the market are Claas with full suspension all round. In the field and on the road I believe nothing could match them for comfort.
Never driven a Fastrac but out of the John Deeres, Masseys, New Hollands and Fendts I've driven the Arion with full suspension the most comfortable, and the New Holland being the most uncomfortable. Shame about the engine and general finish of the Claas though.
The bigger issue with the Fastrac would be the overall reliability considering the premium price tag they come with.

dont think there anymore unreliable than all the rest.
Sisu Engine, Fendt Trans
Full proper suspension & Brakes like all tractors should have by now.
Ive driven the latest Claas & yes the cab suspension is nice but id rather operate a massey all day long.

Worth it?

Active seat should be standard in any tractor imo - absolute must tick option on any modern tractor

I think tyres also make a massive e difference as does correct weighting

Fendt cab suspension is good, it’s hard to get a driver out of a 724 once he’s spent any time in one

For 120k I want more than a fancy seat , Armageddon for tractor manufacturers isn't far away , mark my words .

You would need to soend more than 120k on your 724 spec to get an active seat now I’m affraid

I actually think these machines are cheap for what they are and they will probably get relatively more expensive over time

Machinery isn’t too expensive, what we sell is too cheap to afford it is the problem !

Thats My excuse anyways, rather have a Newer fresher machine which wont need replaced for a good few years after the fact than a 7 year old machine which is starting to need changed...

I did consider a 4000 fastrac recently but can’t get away from the fact that I think the 724 is in a class of its own right now - future classic 7810 style imo

For what it’s worth I don’t think a lot of the rest of the Fendt range but they seem to have hit the sweet sport with the 724
