Just one implement

Was on a farm a while back. They were making very good money hiring out part of the farmhouse and gardens to hen parties for the weekend. They’d organise DJ’s/waiters if required and had popped a hot tub in the garden. It actually all looked a bit rough but they had plenty of clients apparently!
So that’s why that “farmer” was asking about telescopes the other night! Watching the Hens!

Leave the tractor in the yard and buy a lawn mower and go out cutting lawns, a mate now charges £40/hour for cutting lawns.

I tried that last week but nobody seems to want my services in Jan (or Feb come to that).....

This time of the year you want a cordless dewalt drill and a pile of 'handyman' business cards in your local Ikea - make good money building furniture for those that don't want to. A lot lower running costs than a lawnmower even, but you do have to wear tidy clothes and be nice to idiots.

Big rear discharge dung spreader. We bring in a contractor every year to load ( with our tractor ) and spread with theirs.. We muck out all winter onto heap, they load and spread. Job is done far quicker than we can do it.

Personally 'man and tractor' is probably one of my better paying jobs. Hitch on their kit, use your diesel and tyres, send bill, get paid, job done. ?‍♂️

It honestly baffles me how anyone goes and spends £30k plus on a drill and covers enough acres to pay for a drill, towards a tractor and earn a living.

Maybe to do with in my job we're rarely in a scenario where we can earn far more by the acre than just charging by the hour.

you say you dont want to do man and tractor, and ive seen the suggestions on a wet weather seed drill which was going to me my suggestion.

but....

how about a fudging wide set of flotation wheels, and then you become flexible and given the weather very much in demand ?

and ROI my well be better than something that will depreciate when sat in the shed

Got a 200hp tractor (Fastrac) sat idle at the minute. Soon going to have some spare time on my hands so plan on putting it to work. Don't want "man and tractor" jobs. So what one implement would generate the most return? I'm in North Lincs.

Sell the tractor and invest the proceeds in Troy Trojan global equity. Over the last 5yrs you would have doubled your money
