I have just been made aware that Tesco are selling New Zealand Lamb under a Union Jack Flag!! A good friend who lives on the side of Goodwood racecourse sent me some pictures of it in a store near them. Come on NFU this has to be stopped.

Share the pictures/news clips on every available media source, fb, whatsapp, local rags, along with the own goal polish beef story and we can shame supermarkets and make the general public aware . The public are feeling patriotic at the moment so we need to tap into it and get them buying british and shunning foreign goods.

That would surely be completely unacceptable? If you have pictures (and are sure about them) post them on here and get them spread around social media.
Start the ball rolling.
Why do you always want the NFU to sort things, they might not even be aware of it. Have you contacted them?

Maybe it was this flag, and @Wolds Beef ‘s mate doesn't know the difference. It kinda looks like a “Union Jack flag” (sic) to the uneducated?

Yes Irish owned....they did pay more for stock originally...about 2p/kg more
Hence why there’s no markets left in Ireland

Having sold through ABP for several years now, there was times when i received the cheque and grades i would be pleasantly surprised, not anymore always disappointed, be it price in general or deductions from weights. Thinking about going back to live market and take my chances there.

So the answer as usual is we ask supermarkets when to jump and they say how high.I fully accept some people simply don’t have the money to buy joints of beef I’m lucky enough to buy back straight from slaughter house.But just watch people shopping it’s an education.3 chickens for £10 a beef joint £5 ,loin of pork £5/6 but boy wait until they hit the drink isle those bottles of wine cost more than the joint.Now I may be bais as I don’t drink but surely meat must have a better value than a bottle of wine.Surely there is plenty of breaking cattle in the system .Maybe we would all understand if someone put the full costs up after slaughter to housewife.I didn’t write the first post to upset anyone but with yards full of cattle eating,going out of spec you feel totally disheartened .stay safe everyone .

Anywhere but, we have the power , it’s up to us if we want to relinquish it to massive company’s that will inevitably pressure us down to the last pip , don’t sell them anything take the power back they can’t process fresh air.

How have they got so big? They must have been paying farmers more for their stock than the other companies, otherwise, why sell to them?
They, and other Irish meat processing firms got big during the BSE crisis, which started 24/25 years ago. From Feb 1996 to mid-summer
2007, there was a ban on exporting British beef, the irish processors were happy to take up this gap in the market and they used the
profit to buy up British meat processing plants, which were valued at knock down prices. It's called business, and no doubt if the reverse
had happened most Irish meat processing plants would now be in Foreign, non-Irish hands.
