Just seen on BBC news live a fluid dynamacist or something to that effect. Was explaining flooding and how it's has happened more since the EA have taken it on with there ethos of Rivers being self dredging.

Hopefully someone more techy than I am can post a link of it.

It needs lots of fall to be self dredging. The flatter bits need dredging ASAP.

Some of my steeper streams have self dredged to the point of needing filling in, scared of field track falling into them. Flatter bits need cleaning out.

I emailed the guy straight after I watched it ?. He said to look into the Dutch "Room for the rivers Project" due to the Rhine floods in the 90s. Seems a nice guy.
