Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse in government for farmers ……. Neil Parrish

Sorry but it is totally unacceptable behaviour to be watching porn in the house of commons and he should of stepped down immediately it came out.

Its not great form but at the end of the day its not illegal. I just think with this cake nonsense etc the whole political world is getting so shrill and daft. None of this crap matters, its all pantomime

I feel sorry for him. Its a total load of rubbish.

Watching porn on a phone is not illegal - if it was virtually all the men under 50 in the world would be prosecuted.

No its not polite or ethical but for goodness sake its not a crime. Also the idea that is offensive to "all women" is ridiculous.

The bigger crime is that feckin jerkin he is wearing with a shirt and tie.
At work? No its not a crime, but it is pretty much offensive to most women in a work place environment. The fault is like most 'gentleman' he should have apologised for the offence caused, even if it was 'unintentional', and modified his behaviour. I think he has been at it for a while and not a one off, in the HOC you can be shoulder to shoulder, sometimes, and you have to sit with your party.
I go back to the question what was he watching porn for, because its not normal to get yourself aroused in public, on purpose, that is the narrow end of abnormal behaviour.

Nothing surprises me any longer about this gang of ignorant incompetent shysters we have voted into Government. That applies to all parties but more so to the Conservatives which seem to be talentless, inept, immoral, sly serial liars and patently corrupt in many instances.

Can I humbly exempt Mr Robert Halfon, honourable member for Harlow from your evisceration?

I don't think gender has any impact on the matter it's inappropriate regardless who caught him at it. The only thing I would of done differently is I would of pulled him to the side and told him that if I ever caught him watching porn again in the chamber I'd immediately call him out in the chamber.
But maybe that is a typical man thing to do compared to how the women choose to deal with the matter....

But we are making someone resign for viewing something offensive to some people.

I agree he shouldn't have watched it in work. Would we make someone resign for reading an offensive joke or a racist comment in work?

A lot of companies have clear rules about watching porn on anything that is either provided by them or which the cost of use is funded by them. I don't know, but I expect the House of Commons is probably no different. Even if it is different, it's a really poor judgement call to have been voted in by constituents, attend that place at the tax payers expense and then spend your time there in that way.

Anybody who is paid to do a professional job should behave in a professional manner when they are doing it.

I don't have any sympathy for him.

Still, when the taxpayer is paying your salary at close to £40 per hour then you really should make more of an attempt to give value for money ….

Sums the job up.
Those that seek political influence should be allowed nowhere near it, same goes for farming representatives.

It’s just a witch hunt. There’s a lot of it about. People have weaknesses, poor judgement or go through low points they aren’t proud of. Doesn’t mean they are rotten through and through.
His career ruined. Humiliated and shamed. Family embarrassed.
Hope people are satisfied.
Struck me as being a steady reasonable bloke.
Very sad day for all concerned though plenty who couldn’t do what he did on the positive side of things will be gloating massively though they have contributed nothing of any worth.
