OK, he shouldn't have done it. He's done the decent thing and resigned.

However, compared to much of the lying, cheating, deceitful practices going on in westminster (by all parties) its f'all in the grand scheme of things. He hasnt defrauded or hurt anyone (apart form his family) Many others in government are prepared to repeatedly tell bare faced lies and profit from others misfortune but still stay in their jobs.

I would agree with the comments above regarding his integrity. He was good for UK ag. I cant see any other politician coming close to what he was doing for us - in fact i cant see any current politician doing anything for us. Its a sad day.

Life in the House Of Commons must be pretty boring now you're not allowed to try and get a glimpse of Angela Raynors pants. After several hours debating the minutiae of international trade, I really cant begrudge the chap a quick look at some norks.

Sadly, he caught caught so it has to be a case of "be seeing you".

Its not great form but at the end of the day its not illegal. I just think with this cake nonsense etc the whole political world is getting so shrill and daft. None of this crap matters, its all pantomime
We as a country seem to have followed the mass hysteria of Covid, with some sort of regression to the infant school playground. Yes, he should not have been watching porn on his phone, but that seems to be countrywide problem (watching porn on the tube etc), who would have ever thought that Mary Whitehouse was right! Then we have the partygate stuff, and cancelling JK Rowling for standing up for Women's rights, Kier Starmer can't say what a woman is, what is happening?

Have to say I am baffled by all the defence offered on this thread. You can't sit in the House of Commons watching porn on your phone, full stop.
To be weird enough to allow women to see you watching it is even more perverse, these things aren't accidents you know. Chances are he got off on them seeing him watching porn and even if he didn't he is too stupid to be there in the first place. The only defence I can come up with to counter the too stupid accusation is that it was completely deliberate.
Watch porn for all I care but there is a time and place and even then there is a certain amount of discretion required to remain on the side of acceptability, he was miles away from it.

I’m impressed with the level of detail in coverage of the story in today’s Sunday Telegraph. Mentioning the make and models of some of the machinery in the yard at the family farm (Claas Dominator 76, Massey Ferguson 265). Detail not even expected of the Farmers Weekly.
Does that make me a geek?

No, just proves you're into 'tractor porn'.....

......best be careful if you're at work - apparently you're only one click away from watching pornhub 😱

And now we see the Woke New Conservative over reaction in full force. Half of Tory MP's are going to be women apparently.
What about merit? Quotas based on anything other than merit and ability are always a very dangerous and divisive thing IMO.
I despair.
These are the people who will ultimately starve and bankrupt the country.
