JVC vapomatic jd radio

Has any body fitted one?
I have tried to fit one to replace faulty Jd one in my 6155 but when plug cables in it will not turn on .I have tried another radio with the same outcome. The original radio will power up ok .the original radio keeps turning it self off .checked wires but can not locate a fault.
Any advice appreciated.

Don't these just have ONE constant power feed as opposed to 2 and rely on the canbus to wake the unit up?

The only achievement in unplugging jd radio is it has wiped out the armrest and screen controls .all started playing up when I started using power strip connections in cab.

JD radio uses canbus to communicate with the audio control on arm rest - the VAP JVC unit is meant to have the capability to work with these.

If it powered up it might have a chat with the canbus! 4 leads on jd one only 2 on jvc and a box in it's harness. book not much help

Maybe you have a dud new radio...

That is conclusion I have come to.

Whatever happened to the simple,

Connect power to radio
Connect speakers to radio
Connect Aeriel to radio,

Switch on and it worked.
