Any tips? I've got a 2 acre lake in one stubble field that has a few hundred greylags and Canadas on & I don't want them stripping off the osr half a mile away. I hate gas bangers and want to keep them for pigeons later on. Rockets? Day + night rope bangers? Luckily there's a chap living on that farm who has shot a few with a rifle which keeps the rest on their toes. There is evidence of the geese landing on the rape crop but not grazing it yet. I'm paranoid about them devouring it on a full moon.

Good luck, they are a right pain.
I get 1000’s in the autumn.
I push them off 3 or 4 times a day, sending the dogs out after them helps a bit.
Get a licence to control them , same problem here , get about a dozen of you and give them hell one night and keep at them .

Exactly the same situation dealt with today near Harrogate. Started at 4.30am under a 1/4 moon and took double figure mixed bag with the shotgun. We'll be back four days out of the next seven until they get the message.

We have two 4ac lakes in the middle of the farm here, so we have a visitor or two each Autumn. They hit the stubbles locally in their hordes, which isn’t a massive issue, but I’m most concerned about the amount of grass they Hoover up before they leave. It is said that 3 geese eat as much as 1 sheep!
It is noticeable that they tend to bugger off just as soon as the shoot start, even though they don’t shoot anywhere near those lakes. It seems they don’t like being disturbed regularly, and lots of bangs.

Laser pointer ex China works well here also use rockets, rope bangers, fert bags on posts (1 to 3 acres) but the ultimate is a heavy rifle (270, 308)into the middle of them. Full moons are a pain <7000 grazing March wheat fairly helps tillering

May be a bit more effective than a drone, despite some on TFF thinking robots and remotely controlled vehicles are the future way of farmingQuite likely. Driving at speed through a big flock with a quad while they’re out grazing certainly causes a bit of panic.

I'd advertise locally for some enthusiastic guns and get them shot. If popular enough and enough £'s involved might start feeding the geese some wheat.
