Keeping rats out of a grain store

Over many years, like most I have been plagued by rats, getting into grain stores

I have tried everything, but now, for the past 3 years I think I have found a solution

A mains powered electric fence around the perimeter of the concrete panels and along the front face of the store. The latter I have fixed to moveable wooden partitions.

As for insulators, simple water pipe seems to do the trick, together with 2 wires spaced 50mm apart carrying live and earth.

It stopped the rats overnight and very occasionally we get a dead one arcing between the wires.

Cheap, easy and eco friendly [emoji23][emoji108]

Brilliant idea, what do use to hold the short lengths of blue pipe in place along the top of the grain barrier etc etc.
