Keeping Stuff Dry(ish)

Chopping down a copse of trees in a field someplace. I have a small PTO chipper and I'm going to chip all the brash. Simple enough but PTO is pretty heavy and a pain to move around and there's a lot of brash, so want to take chipper into copse and leave it there until the job complete. What's the best way of keeping the elements off of it and the whole thing reasonably safe from rusting? Just stick it on a pallet and cover tightly in a tarp? Its only a month or so but it gets pretty wet in Wales...

I was going to suggest a lorry side sheet but maybe not on second thoughts. It won't breathe and they are blinking heavy!

Spray it with diesel /oil mix when clean and dry. That will help with rust issue. Plastic silage bale wrap may be ok to wrap it and shouldn't rip in the wind like a tarpaulin.
