Don't most ECU's come blank and need a dealers computer to program them as they often fit more than one model of machine.Basically man is not an island. No point stocking up on spare ECUs my friend if you have no diesel or kero left, because no lorries can run or depots operate. We’ll ALL be totally fudged.
They do for Deere’s, some will work out the box but still need coding with serial numbers etc to keep working. This means you can’t swap between tractor for example you can’t putting a 6930 ecu on a 6630 and make it think it’s a 69, it would run but wouldn’t rev up etc.Don't most ECU's come blank and need a dealers computer to program them.
i don't think i've ever come across such a silly thread.....and i've tried very seriously to start some in my time
You would take satisfaction in the event of a nuclear holocaust?!? Like WTF are you unhinged?I will remind you of this when it all kicks off. Of course you won’t be able to see my reply, but I will still take satisfaction In it.

id be more worried about the road warriors trying to steal your lifeWhy? The need to till the soil will still be there and agricultural equipment will be helpful to clear up the debris.
I think it’s worth thinking about a contingency plan.

Does the 55 have electronic lift control and the digital dash?
Presumably if you’re going to the trouble of stocking up the half dozen ECUs found on each of your typical machines, and storing them carefully in gold foil in your purpose built EMP-proof lead lined safe inside your bunker, then you you would have also invested in a few spare dealer laptops too and an off grid power supply to charge the batteries in the nuclear winter....Don't most ECU's come blank and need a dealers computer to program them as they often fit more than one model of machine.
“Hey honey I’m just off to chuck some fert on in the nuclear winter wheat. Keep the bunker door sealed. Don’t wait up...”
