D’you know, I have been mulling this over and it is my opinion only that this government will struggle to go to term and I think Johnson will be gone in two years when the Tories turn on him bigly.

Let’s look at things ....

1. He’s lazy and happy to be steered by Cummings to the extent that Cummings could almost be considered to be the De Facto PM

2. He comes out with sweeping statements that become manifestly wrong within days ... his latest being that the U.K. will have “world beating” track and trace. Er, no when you consider S Korea for a start and that the training of said tracers is descending in to confusion

3. He is going to be the figurehead of a very ugly recession with unemployment over 6m+ Whilst his donors coin it by short selling the pound and push for a No Deal Brexit

4. An Enquiry in to this pandemic is going to point up a host of issues not least the original gung ho attitude to herd immunity ... fronted by Johnson

I could go on but if I was a betting man? Gone by 2022
Not a chance of him being ousted by 2022 the membership won’t allow it,it’s only 6 months into a 5 year parliament and plenty of time to turn the economy around once brexit is done

I think you are just proving the point by trying to drag a few half stories together to smear him, he makes Boris look like the lying chump he is and thats all you can muster.
He forgot to mention he bought a field for his disabled mother to keep donkeys as well. That was the best Tory press could do on Sunday to smear Starmer.
I think that bumbling Boris will be long gone before next election as he is so obviously out of his depth against Starmer.

That’s the nub.
I too would have gone for Hunt in the recent leadership race but, if he steers a good ship, the smart money could be on Sunak
Sunak has enhanced his standing recently but of course he has the easy job so far as he is giving away lots of cash.
Just wait till we have to repay it, his popularity may wane.

I think he'll be gone well before next election. He'll carry the can for the pandemic and Brexit and be gone. They will want a more articulate and competent leader before next election.

Looking at the political betting odds Sunak comes out on top at 3/1 to succeed Johnson, way ahead of the likes of Gove or Raab.

Labour would absolutely hate that, it would mean the Tories having the first ethnic PM as well as the first female PM.

What you mean is you hope he’s gone before the next election so that labour have a chance!

The one thing I would say in Boris's defence, is which of the useless mob would you swap him for; Govey, Priti Useless, Ian Dimwit-Smith, Dangerous Davis, Peter Pandemic, Liz Trussed-up etc, etc the list goes on. As much as I dislike Hunt he would be the only one I can think of who is vaguely trustworthy and competent, although I don't work for the NHS. :scratchhead:

You missed out Robert Jenrick who apparently has a main home in Herefordshire ,even though its news to the neighbours :ROFLMAO:
Oh and Rees -Mogg who seems to have disappeared during the covid 19 crisis .
Perhaps he's too busy making millions out of his hedge fund interests out of a bad situation?
This conservative party are a group of sleeze balls with little truth or honor.

The trouble with Queer Stammer is that he is a Blair in Brown's clothing.
This is the worst of both worlds.
Labour need a John Smith, a Brown in Blairs clothing.
Boris has the potential to be gone in no time or sit for 2 or 3 terms. It will all come down to how lucky he is with the timing of events. The December election has given him the huge advantage of 5 years to get things 'on the up'.

I would tend to agree with your views on John Smith but such a man would not appeal to the nasty left.

No what I mean is I THINK he will.be gone by next election. Please do not tell me what I think or hope, you do not know me.
I have always voted Tory until the last election and have never wished that Labour were in power.
I only have a casual interest in politics and firmly believe it will make little difference to me personally or to the country which party wins the next election. To win the next election Starmer does not have to 'win' PMQ's, he has to have some sound centre ground policies like Blair did and which the party seem ideological set against. Only time will tell if he can do this.

I agree Boris will be in the seat for some time. He is young. Getting the economy out of the ooze and he will see a Tory government for years.

I just think that Boris will become a liability. His bluster and lies will wear thin. He is obviously not fronting many of the daily press conferences as he is not good when put on the spot when replying to journalists questions.
If, and it is a big If, Starmer gets some decent policies, I think Boris will be replaced well before next election.
I favoured Hunt last time round but Sunak may be the man now.

The problem with Sunak, he is still politically naive and has done exactly what various ministers have asked of him by by showering the problem with borrowed money. His problems start in 10 to 12 months time when he has to account for his reckless spending, that the very same said ministers will claim they warned him against. :inpain:

The protective ring turned out to be full of holes. It does not matter how many days and nights he worked, unprecedented, once-in-a -century, etc. It is the same as David Cameron on Brexit where he still says the strategy was right but the implementation failed. They just don't get it.

Jeremy Hunt has not been afraid to question and criticise his government's response even though I am not sure I liked him as Health Secretary. The Boris camp will not support him.
