Surprised the TFF armchair critics haven't ripped this to bits.

My thoughts............

Looks like a nice place, good house / buildings / land.
Not sure if Mr & Mrs Kelvin will make the grade as " proper " farmers, but so what. Neither have I.......
They can always rent out the ground, and remain living in a glorious part of the world.


My only quibble would be the massive £100k John Deere coupled to the wee harrow. On loan maybe ??

What are the thoughts on it? Kelvin Antionette and the BBC are trying to cash in on the Clarkson's Farm series that they missed out on I think.

Moved to posh farmhouse in the country with a nice bit of land. No 'big' farmer. Hobby farming. Prob got property rented out bringing a tidy income cos Im not sure what either of them are doing for work. Utter joke of a programme.

Yes, amazing that the hobbyists can hop on modern machinery, with no training whatsoever, whilst those at the coal face are mired down with licenses / certificates / assurance schemes......
In future I'm going to be a hobbyist...

Load of crap, buys a 120acre livestock farm but 70acres appears to be rented out to Gilly, who is she and why did she let that sheep's foot get so bad. So that leaves 50acres in hand.
Buys a big tractor, doesn't even have a loader on the front , it's meant to be a livestock farm not an arable farm.

Thought the sheep farmer was strange. Dosing sheep by catching them one by one in a wide pen and chasing them round a shed to catch and clip them. Bit late to dag them just minutes before shearing. All good TV I suppose.
Better to invest his time letting out the fully equipped stables and paddocks

Lovely set up for horses. Seems the obvious income stream.
Pretty poor program IMO but I find farming problems dull generally...

makes fun of a serious subject? if you really want to keep livestock in a semi commercial way, go and either work on a livestock farm first or go to college? or like me learn the hard way through my wallet? what really gets me with all these now recent livestyle, move to the countryside, start a new life? loveey type tv programmes, etc etc, is why the hell the serious side of how much work is involved in livestock, for so little profit if any? to be had and the worry?

I am making a reasonable business out of these sort of people, they buy a millions pounds worth of land and 200 lambs, after the fist year when 20% have died, 40% are lame and the rest keep getting out, they come to the conclusion they need some to do if for them. So I step in buy all there rubbish, replace with 50% less ewe lambs (what I buy back 12 months later), we do the maintenance and tractor work for them and send them a monthly bill. They still get to tell there friends or followers that they are farmers and technically they are but now they have a nice flock of sheep and the place looks reasonable.
I now have 4 people that I do this for and works great (ATM).

I’m all for planting trees,but not on productive level fields like they have.
