You have to have some sort of qualifications to do most types of skilled jobs. Why is it that any tom dick and Harry can buy/ rent some ground and livestock and treat them badly (ok not intentionally) but mainly because they don’t know what to do. At a time when wormer resistance and antibiotic resistances is such an important thing I think some sort of training/ qualification should be required for to be the main person responsible for the well being of livestock, although a primary job it is a highly skilled one.
Believe it or not but defra have looked at this and watching celebs buy land pretend to farm I think we should have an exam before allowing monied townies into the countryside

Didn't get past the first few minutes. What makes me really mad is there's people out there (like me) that would love the chance to buy their own farm and will never afford it bar doing it for a hobby or working for someone else. Then there's berks like this that think "you know what I fancy today? Buying a farm. And a shiny tractor." And just do it because they can and then get paid by the TV to film it !!!!

The dreadful program was paid for by the BBC license payer! Sheep looked 1/2 dead, domestic rabbit released into the wild. Shame on Jackson Staff and Stopps for selling the farm to him. Is there no due diligence done.

And they wonder why there is no young blood coming into farming....because Z listers are buying all the farms.

All these 'celebs' need putting in a proper show. Call it 'survivor'. They get dumped in a wilderness and have to make it 100 miles to safety, whilst being chased by Kiwi Pete or someone else suitably brutal. Those that don't make it get killed and eaten- by Kiwi Pete, wild dogs, dingos or wolves.

The above is the only way you would get me to watch a programme featuring these kind of people.
