Key management

I have keys ,to locks, for the house, farm gate, fuel store, tool chests ,four vehicles that are potentially nickable etc etc.
I don't like carrying loads of keys in my pockets because of the risk of losing them . But don't like "hiding" them, because I get "can't remember where I put that down" syndrome.
I understand the need to secure everything, but I seem to spend a lot of time trudging back and forwards to retrieve keys from the " safe " place each day.
How do other people manage?

Replace locks with keyed alike and master keyed systems so you just need to carry a sensible set of keys. Granted initial setup will be costly but once it’s done you’ll be sorted.

I bought a key wallet. Eastpak Kiolder if you can still get one:

Because all the keys are secure in one place the chances of losing any of them are massively reduced. But still ok to fit in a pocket. I've had a key wallet as standard pocket contents for years now, and I've yet to lose one.

Keyed alike padlocks are fine, but they have a significant downside - if there is any breach of security and you suspect someone has got a key who shouldn't have one (and you end up giving keys to quite a few people over time, with contractors etc, plus if anyone loses a key) then you have to replace the lot, which can be pretty expensive. And the problem with combination locks is that you are never sure if anyone is going through them when they shouldn't be - if someone gets hold of the combination (and I find that contractors and their staff are notorious for leaving combination locks open so the combination is there for all to see) then there is no evidence for unauthorised access.

Brother in law has the same issue, he uses a key lock box that, in turn is locked across the towing hitch on the truck.
He`s not only got his keys but also customers garages, sheds etc.
Just wraps it in plastic bags/wrap to keep the muck off.
Bit like this...

Be like me-don't have anything worth nicking!

My late FIL used to lock his car when he visited us and parked outside our house. Our house was in the middle of nowhere, 300 yds down a stone track and behind a set of gates that we always kept shut-because of the 3 dogs and flock of geese we had running loose. Hatton Garden was less secure!
