My daughter is loving uni especially her course which is already involving lots of work. Although her cooking skills do not seem to be improving. Mrs bg and I are really enjoying seeing our 2 grow into adults now they have moved to the next stage of education and life.

3 Daughters all worked hard at uni, two firsts and a 2.1, the eldest two now hold professional jobs, earning money only i could dream off, the youngest back to do a Masters, then hopefully a PhD.
Very proud of them, and pleased to have helped where we could, as long as they are prepared to work and achieve themselves,
I know their futures will be okay,

Should also have added that bg junior has just found his placement job. He is off to Devon in April and very excited. If it all goes well it will be a big step towards what he wants to do in the future. Also he will get lots of info for his dissertation. So uni is going well for him.

I take it you don't run sucklers then, the human equivalent to weaning calves, a bit of upset for a couple of days then everything goes back to a normal routine!
My youngest tok a year out before he went, saved £2K so I was surprised to get a phone call from him asking for a sub just before the end of the first session. I quickly worked out he had blown £200 a week.
I pointed out that if I had that kind of money to go drinking and chasing women I would do it myself rather than funding his excesses!
I did similar in first year. That was great fun, but the summer re-sit wasn't...

I know this is an old Thread but I have just come across it. I was delighted when two of my three children got into Uni and found it a thrilling experience to deliver them to a new start at College and see the Graduate and all the rest of it, after all I did a similar thing thirty years earlier. However I find I miss them more and look forward more eagerly to their visits to their spiritual home (or going to visit them) 7 or 8 years later despite Facebook and Whatsapp and other social media. You are always their Parent and they are always your Daughter or Son.

I’ve just had a like for my post in this thread. Things have moved on slightly from kids starting uni, it was a brilliant experience for both my children. One having completed Cirencester soon learned that an office job is not for him so he spent the covid years on one of the largest dairy farms in canada. He is now working for me, properly on the books before anyone mentions it.

My daughter has now moved back home having been a para legal and is back at uni. online this time doing the next part of becoming a corporate lawyer.

Uni worked really well for both of them
