I can't think of an example so will you please tell us all which non-lame-duck PM, or candidate to be PM, would be well advised to support a soon to retire and less than discrete ambassador against a US president, and what useful purpose it would serve?

Both May and Hunt backed Darroch. One of the big problems now is that a number of counties embassies have now said they won't share information anymore with the UK ones due to the risk of it being leaked.

Darroch backed Clinton and when trump got elected he was telling them that Jeremy steel and his report was legit,we now know it was a pack of lies bought and paid for by the democrat party.Because of his inability to do the job he was sent there to do the uk was on the back foot with the trump administration from day one

The question is how far up the diplomatic tree does the Steele dossier go ?

I think a significant number of ministers including the Prime Minister gave the Steele dossier a rubber stamp. Quite rightly Trump is going to want payback and he's not the personality type to roll over.

What also amuses me is the fact people are not putting 1+1 together.

During the first 2 years of Trumps administration 1.4 Trillion dollars were spent on the USA military. Trump is going to use that hardware for whatever actions he had planned.

Iran is obviously one of those. Did Trump have second thoughts about starting a conflict ? ATM he has one eye on domestic re-election .. so I guess he'll be playing to the audience at home. If/when he gets elected he'll push forward and remove the terrorist supporters completely.

I bet Pakistan is getting worried.

The UK embassidor to the USA was an adult baby, no need to say a word against anyone in the world. Just state the facts and let people make their own conclusions - no fuss, no diplomatic crysis and no nappy needed.

A lesson from history is one can never 'get rid' of terrorists. Not that that has stopped many a government for millennia trying. Trump will be next.

As a man who publicly in his electioneering strongly berated the previous USA administrations for interventionist policies, and in particular slated Clinton as a warmonger (as I recall you often post on here) he does appear to have changed tack, as was inevitable as USA is the worlds 'policeman' and now quite likes to idea of having control of carrier battle groups.

Hey ho.

A bit of a distinction.

Hilary wanted war with Russia .. the one with 1,000s of Nuclear weapons.

Iran is the major actor in the region for terrorism .. the USA have nothing to lose in removing the current leadership. Who comes in afterwards ? I doubt it will be worse for the USA .. might mena they continue spending on military hardware, but that has it's own advantages regarding China & Pakistan.

May is a lame-duck and Hunt hasn't a chance of being PM and knows it; this allows both to try and 'take the moral high ground' because they know that they won't be left with the reality - BJ will have to deal with incumbent US president, it really is that simple (forgotten TM's hand-holding have you?). As for intelligence, fortunately GCHQ will almost certainly be able to get any info' necessary. :)

And what is your advice to an incoming PM with regard to alienating our closest ally?

It will be very interesting to see who leaked and to find out why.

The obvious question would be, to what purpose? Darroch just confirmed something we already know, more likely it was just simply down to poor/lazy handling of classified information by civil servants.
who knows what is going on in the globalist brain of someone who is suffering
from a severe case of brexititis
complicated with acute trump derangement syndrome?
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

American diplomats did not use diplomatic langauge when talking about President Erdogan , America’ s closest ally and essential partner in the middle East, the repercussions are being felt still.
There is an English Bradley Walsh but they have been very selective in there releases.
Is this perhaps connected to a certain persons possible deportation?

That is American diplomats for you.

Well it was you who suggested the establishment may not want a smooth
Brexit, so why would a very strong Brexiteer who has very close connections to those who are backing Farage make all these notes public!
It is absolutely obvious this man has been stitched up to further the Brexit cause.

Journalists get paid to release information to the world and sell newsprint. However unpalatable, risky, inaccurate or whatever it is all the same to them- more fuel for the fire.

A 19 year old freelance journalist, who passed it to Isabelle Oakeshot.
Neither expected the fall out. They said.

 Drivel, and dishonest drivel too. It is patently obvious why it was published and what the repercussions would be and anyone in a position t publish it would have been well aware of all this.

Inevitable & mildly interesting though this is, it brings us no nearer to knowing who leaked it & why...

suspect the establishment,
would rather lock up the young journalist,
in the journalist wing of belmarsh,
than find out who actually leaked it.
