No idea, like i said i just bought a mower off them but it looked a professional outfit and worth a phone call.
We went for years on range command manual change without issueUsing the auto functions where the tractor maintains engine revs and speed by changing gears on a power shift is a sure way to knacker the clutches and is feature designed to ensure dealers fitters are kept busy IMHO. It’s a banned practice to use it here, you need a tractor with enough engine torque for the job and so to remove the need to change gear under load. Not saying that is the reason for the failure on this thread but it’s a result of the electronic era where you can shift gears all day without realising it’s happening. They don’t over engineer things either, every part is made to a price. Dont get me started on service intervals !
Are u sure that over its entire life it hasnt had £1000 spent on it?Local contractor here has several Cnh of both colours with v high hours and a few of them are remapped one particular one (165) has been dynoed at 240hp with over 13000 hrs and hasn’t had a 1000£ spent on repairs they are well looked after but worked hard.People can criticise MF and Cnh but without doubt they have the 2 best engines on the market available which is v important and a lot of problems CAN be put down to The drivers abuses

Has he any t7 models like the t7200 , he didn’t put 13000 on one of them without needing finance for the repairs.Local contractor here has several Cnh of both colours with v high hours and a few of them are remapped one particular one (165) has been dynoed at 240hp with over 13000 hrs and hasn’t had a 1000£ spent on repairs they are well looked after but worked hard.People can criticise MF and Cnh but without doubt they have the 2 best engines on the market available which is v important and a lot of problems CAN be put down to The drivers abuses

[/Yes he does have t7 models and the v high houred one is power command but the rest are mostly range command which I would agree with glasshouse is probably generally the most reliable ( but I’m not a mechanic) just driven both he may be lucky with the reliability on them but he does look after them and yes James I have heard good reports on Valtra (and bad ones as well) but not all outstanding like yours .local Valtra dealer here who I thought was doing well give up Valtra in favour of MF which is a pity but he may have forced by higher powers,
Plenty of jobs that aren’t high draft. I’m talking subsoiling or running deep ripping type stuff. You would never pull away on the clutch with a subsoiler in the ground. So you shouldn’t be power-shifting.
[/ it all depends where the clutch is in the box.. if at the front then it’s no harder setting off with the subsoiler than a trailer on a hill. But I agree start off with reduced load if possible.
What models?
Range command ?
Rc is far better than pc i reckon
Its the auto functions that are wrong
a lot better than 2 stick crash box.The Range command is a hideous gearbox.
Why? I like my 3The Range command is a hideous gearbox.
Is it any better or any worse than the outdated crowbar change in other makes ?The Range command is a hideous gearbox.
He must have never drove a davy broom 1210 which snapped the gearstick off below the floor if you were changing down quick on a hillIs it any better or any worse than the outdated crowbar change in other makes ?
Ha mine does that, well pops out of the selectors but it does have a gazillion hours on itHe must have never drove a davy broom 1210 which snapped the gearstick off below the floor if you were changing down quick on a hill
