Knepp castle before Groundswell?

Would there be any interest from anyone if I tried to organise a day at Knepp Castle the day before Groundswell? (21st June) - thinking of maybe enquiring to do a visit for hairy arsed farmers and maybe could get under the skin of it a bit more?

If there was enough interest it may not even be impossible to meet at Groundswell site on the tuesday morning and get a coach sorted there and back save driving?

Oh I could tell you some stories 😂

If you go down and want a decent overview one of my friends lives there and actually has his head screwed on.

Some great stuff, but don’t believe the bull sh!t re the rewilding. And the regen ag stuff is unfortunately not being handled well, but that’s what you get for employing someone way more interested in nfu conference selfies than understanding farming.

Which is why a visit would allow us as farmers to take a view on it whilst seeing it in action.

I would be very very interested to see what you took from it. There’s some great stuff deffo. Just a fair bit of smoke and mirrors.

I think this is the interesting thing. To hear a farmers view on it. Whichever way you look at it it is an interesting diversification

People with connections and involvement with Knepp have just bought 1500acres in Lincolnshire to ‘rewild’ along similar lines. Regen ag will only take 3 years according to their presentation, looking on with interest. Nattergale Ltd Boothby Wildland Ltd

How do they afford it?

Be slightly wary of how much they are connected. Every rewilder in the country try to associate themselves with knepp.

To be fair to Charlie and Isobella, they aren’t daft and have made an interesting diversified business. It has somewhat been hijacked by the usual kind of folk that hijack these kind of things though.

They chopped down five ancient oaks and ripped a length of hedgerow out the other day but I doubt that will make the press release 😂

The head stock man pat is sound. And has made the cattle into a sensible operation.
Pat has done a great job with the Longhorns and they're well adapted to the land.

If you're going there with a farming hat on remember that what they're doing isn't farming, it's using livestock to manage the land in that respect. The place is teeming with life.
