original stuff,

cable are ok actually but for sake off 55 I got a set last week stainless ones look ok, as it’s not done much work was going shoes would be ok clearly not :cautious: well plenty of material just not stuck to shoes

left with handbrake off, just stroke bonding I think …
How are your cables?
I find excessive heat from dragging brakes upsets the glue holding the friction material.

My sisters car did it a few weeks ago on the front brake pads, one side the friction material totally fell out the caliper and the other side fell apart when i removed them.
Pads were only about 6months old.

I cant remember what i put in it, but they wern't cheap crap. Could of been a disaster as it happened when she came to a crossroads and she ended up in the middle of the road before stopping. Luckily there were no cars coming.

Had an identical issue earlier this year with an IW LM 85 which is always parked indoors with the handbrake off.....but it is twenty years old....

Be interesting to see how long the new Knott shoes last.

Its not just trailers having this problem i bought a used back wheel for a dirt bike project and the linings fell off the shoes on inspection. Maybe the glue bonded better to the old asbestos type.New shoes are only a few quid but i may try and glue the old ones back together as a experiment as it wont be going on the road 🤔

They look pretty reasonable quality I was impressed as they were significantly cheaper than knott ones will see how they go.
