Kramer 312 Hydraulic Fluid

Hi there

I’m a newbie to the forum and to most things agricultural and mechanical so please be patient with me. If I’m sounding stupid it’s because I am.

I’ve just bought a 1984 2wd Kramer Allrad 312 and I need to do some work on it to get it sorted. First I want to top up the hydraulic fluid but don’t know what to put in it and don’t know what is in it already; does it even matter? Advice please!

Second the brakes are shot but I’ll get to that a bit later. I have an Orion dumper as well with no brakes, anyone know where I can get the bits to start repairs?

Many thanks

Ours had atf in hydraulics as it also lubricates better.
Hyd oil goes under bonnet at top left. 34mm (?) Hex 'nut' to unscrew to remove cap and magnetic probe. Fill until can see in sight glass under left rear mudguard.

Brakes are an issue. The master cylinder is too small for the 2 slaves so brake shoes need to be freed off on pivots and adjusted right up to drum to actually work.

Kev Walker at Rainton has all the old parts but wants blood for brake shoes. Shoes will 99% be ok, just need adjusting.
I've some new spare shoes on shelf if needed.
Keep back axle uj greased. It's a fiddly job as blank caps need removing, nipple fitting and greasing then cap replacing. Kingpins too.

Wow that’s a fast response, thanks very much folks, will have a look at them first then search for parts. I guess that’s why it came with no brakes!

Thanks for the offer of shoes, I will see what state they’re in then contact you for a price if needed. Cheers
