It’s not silly at all it’s all about looking after number one first, If your local town has full employment it’s a nice place to be , if that employment is exported abroad and your local town has high unemployment it’s turns a sh!t hole .

Not saying dont buy JCB just that using the sole reason its "British as a reason to buy it" is silly. You buy what you like and what suits your business.

Your right, I agree. Buy what you like and what suits your business. But all I am saying is, all us farmers cannot moan if Asda for example start buying New Zealand lamb, Costa Coffee use french milk, McDonald's buy Argentinian beef, the British housewife buys whatever is cheapest...British or not, because that's what suits them and their businesses.

"McDonald's buy Argentinian beef" Not sure they do for the UK? didnt they used to run TV adverts claiming 100% British/Irish Beef? or was that someone else?

I do agree it makes little sense to use non British milk, cant see how that could be cheaper than UK milk or practical and from a taste point of view i doubt anyone would notice :scratchhead: Personally i don't like costa coffee at all so maybe french milk does taste:poop::X3: i only like the instant stuff.

Anyway this is going wildly off the OP's topic/question now.

If you're doing a lot of road work I would go for the JCB with a PS gearbox. As I aid I don't like hyroststic but on the road they can be very slugish.

McDonalds UK use UK and Irish sourced beef for all their stuff. I believe all the milk comes from organic farms in the UK and the bulk of their salad and potatoes are from the UK. Of course their coffee and chocolate are not from the UK. I think their eggs are UK free range but can't remember.

Of course, the margin on their products will be such that where the raw materials come from or even if they are fully organic/ethical/fair trade it will make near enough no difference to the consumer.

We have a new JCB here because they are still in this country
With all the dealer movements like Kramer they have only just starting to get about because of being put through the JD dealers.
When JD decide that they want to something ells then were will you get Kramer service JD have a track record for doing this.
Just look around at what dealers are selling its nearly all change in the loader market

The Kramer has been about in uk for many years under class colours. It only changed since that deal ended.

Yes they have been about a fair while but they have not got that many out there Class look how many different types they have tried to sell they move on and the customer is left with no back up
Its going the same way with JD look at there dealers how many different types of loader some have had JD,JCB, Manitou, Merlo, Kramer, all in about 10 / 15 years
Your local JD is about the same
So you buy a Kramer and then all change were do you go at least JCB are in this country and some one to speak to for help.
I am not saying JCB is the best far from it

Claas back up is excellent. They will standby any product they have supplied.

Isn't it the other way around? Kramer built telehandlers for Claas but now badge them themselves? I don't think I would be too worried about support. They have been about a long time and have a strong core support.

We also run 3 Claas tractors one of which is a pre-series and I have to agree the backup from Claas is top draw. I just think they would be better off forgetting about handlers. They move between manufacturers too much and they don't sell in large enough numbers. The quality is variable at best, The Kramers were quite good at the end but the rest have been a bit of a disaster.
