Anybody out there run a krone 280cv moco? How heavy are they? Are they lighter than a mchale r3100? Neighbour broke cross shaft and left arm on a 6 cylinder 110hp Renault on first season which has seriously put me off mounted. Trailed prices just dont justify unfortunately.Mf 5613 will be running the krone 👍👍

We’ve got a krone 243 on our 5455. Wouldn’t want to put a bigger one on it. Been faultless, has covered approx 1100acres in 8 years with us. Due a new one but tempted to keep it as a spare machine.

It should esily do another 1100 acres (maybe even a third).

Ran one on a 100hp Deutz agrotron for near ten years. Admittedly the linkage is an awful lot heavier than a Massey or similar Gima sourced back end on a Renault.

Krone mowers cut anything extremely well, and with direct gearbox drive they can be pushed on hard without worrying about belt slip. They're not the lightest, but much better than a McHale.

I run a mounted 320cv now. With a 1000rpm gearbox instead of the 540rpm that was in the 280cv, the wider mower is actually easier on the tractor to drive

Unless you're going mental turning over bumpy headlands with the mower in the air, don't worry

What deutz did you have mate. Iv Had a few a few over the years... the best was a deutz 6.08 L reg. beast of a thing. 100% German back then not like today

Sorry just seen agrotron
MK3 100 it was

Put a loader on it and bought a k430 profiline for the main work

Still got the k series. Still punches well above it's 120hp

(Sorry, no pictures of it on the mower 💪)

I’m pretty sure it would! It’s been faultless. Just our most crucial machine trying to make top quality horse haylage in the wettest part of Wales!
I feel you. We have two trailed Mocos and one mounted mower "just to be sure". Mounted Kuhn was bought when the dealer told us that getting new belts for the trailed Moco would take two days to arrive.
