just bought one of these, wanted the one that spreads as it cuts and assumed the discs would spin in pairs but 4 outer discs spin inwards and 2 centre discs spin outwards, is this correct would think it may make the swath uneven?

Discs rotating to centre is rotation A.

You need rotation B, discs rotate in pairs.

Can be converted, not sure if described in operator manual, otherwise ask dealer.

Take the discs off 4 17 mm bolts then you will be able to see the 8 on the inside and 10 on the 2 outside 17 mm nuts that hold the bearing satellites onto the mower bed. Take out the satellites that you need to change rotation with and turn them 90 degrees so the gear in the satellite drives from the opposite side bed gear. Make sure you time the drive plates parallel so that the discs don’t hit each other. When satellites and discs are all refitted turn mower over by hand a few turns to make sure timing is correct. Don’t overtighten satellite nuts they are easy stripped

Krone often turn mowers out with discs rotating one inwards towads the centre of the bed. The actually cut better in pairs of discs rotating in opposite directions

Whoa I won’t be touching it.
Neither of the centre discs turn towards the centre which I find strange as surely there will produce two swaths

It’s easy there’s nothing to be frightened of. The mower sounds like it’s set up the way I like it. How many discs has it got?

We had a krone set up like this from new. It will leave two smaller rows instead off one large one though. Cut well in thick crops but we had trouble with it in second cut silage though as it kept slipping the clutch. Dealer changed rotation on it under warranty but it’s not as simple as changing discs as they were slightly different sizes and needed new ones.

Ours mowed in 2 strips, which isn't too bad If you have the matching tedder being used afterwards. Was quite expensive to change to a single swath. Double swath is standard, you have to ask for a single swath apparently which we weren't told when buying it!!
