Kubota kx161-3

I have a 2003 Kubota kx161 which runs perfectly for 2 or 3 hours but then starts to lose power and gives off blue smoke.

I've blown all the fuel lines out, put new fuel filters in and put a new electric fuel pump but its no better. Any ideas what could be wrong?

It’s done about 6000 hours it was an ex hire machine so probably had a hard life then but we’ve owned it for 5 years and it’s had an easy life with us. It’s not burning any oil.

What exactly do you mean by safety relay?

On a takeuchi ,in the arm rest there is a set of relays ,one failed slowly on mine ,sluggish to start ,sluggish to work ,allsorts of things wernt right ,the relay failed due to an over charging alternator so it shut stuff down to protect it ,might be nothing to do with it ,just a suggestion

Is there a strainer in the tank? Have you cleaned it?

Symptoms do sound like a gauge plugging up over time, or the fuel tank going into vacuum due to a blocked breather or bad cap...

Yes we've cleaned that out.

Don’t think this is it we’ve cleaned all the breather. There’s loads of diesel getting through
