Kubota tin Head gasket

Just fitted a new head and gasket on a 4cyl Kubota. Reputable Kubota agent supplied a the parts. The head gasket is made of 2 sheets of very thin tin with fibre sheet in the middle. Initially I thought the tin bits were protective disposable layers but after a phone call I was assured that's how they are.
Independent engine man I know said that's a 40 year old idea and wouldn't recommend using it.

Anyway engine back together but is now using a bit of water. Oil is clean and no smoke from exhaust and can't see any obvious external leaks.
Now suspecting the head gasket again.
Head was re torqued after an hours use.

Anyone else used tin gasket?

Perkins use gaskets like that, no issues unless the block/head isnt flat. Multi layer gaskets is quite normal.

I remember Warren from Western truck and tractor repair https://youtube.com/channel/UCNVKQS-Jl70TYCmsEPO73QA doing a Kubota engine and he said there was something like 3 different head gaskets for the same engine and alot of measuring had to be done
Love his videos and learnt a lot.some of it is compulsive viewing and love the way he hates JD reman stuff and says it like it is

Good quality non genuine
The only reason i ask is kubota didn't used to be all that big on supplying engine parts. Beyond a few small simple bits like gaskets and water pump etc they had a theory their engines were that good that any failure beyond something simple would have to be so bad it would be a new engine job or that they engines would outlast whatever then were put in.

They may have a point!:
I've got a Cushman Turf Truckster (Yanks!!) with a Kubota D950 engine that I got about 10yrs back. It had 9000 hours on the clock which wasn't working. It had had an elec fire behind dash & a bit on the engine airbox. Clock still isn't working but the engine is going strong. I've fitted a new water pump & starter but apart from that so far so good🤞🤞🤞

I do realise it's not a Transit but could well be same reason for failure which I will keep to myself so there won't be smarmy comments
We're all here to learn.
so far you've criticised my strapping technique and condemned a trailer you know nothing about. But won't enlighten anyone with the correct way to do it.

Now you know why my head has cracked but you're keeping that to yourself as well 🤷‍♂️

I have definitely not condemned your trailer but what's it like for loading 360 with dirty tracks up the ramp??
I did not say I knew why head is cracked I have my own theory and it's nothing to do with engine
