Kubota - Why full page ad’s in the Financial Times?

Appeared on page 7 of the Weekend FT last Saturday. That won’t be cheap!

(a publication I wouldn’t necessarily associate with a tractor manufacturer...wonder what the connection/thinking is there? Perhaps they are planning fund raising, diversification or just raising their public profile...)

The FT has always been the paper for investors. It is probably the only one which carriesthe truth, the full truth and nothing but. Well at least it is far better than any other UK newspaper.
Investors trust it to make decisions . This puff is most likely because they are seeking funds to expand their capacity, say, like, as if they were about to take over a large European manufacturer of combines , as rumour has long suggested

Can only think it’s an investor PR exercise of sorts. Like “who is Kubota Corp.” primer for the private equity guys and girls. Expansion has long been their ambition. Handy cash pile at their disposal, but if they go really big, they’d need external funds.

It’s very rare for them to make any sort of big deal of what they do like this.

Glossy ads in the construction mags, the peril and FG are the usual fayre. Not this.

Maybe there aiming at world domination but judging by the lack of any noticeable increase in orange tractors around here I think they’re not finding it as easy as they thought, so may have to buy their way there.
