Kuhn FBP 3135 v Mc Hale Fusion

I gone from an Vicon (Kuhn) 2190bp to a fusion vario. I really really miss the ride of the twin axle of the 2190 and the way it would change the number of laps to size of bale so you always knew it had consistent layers. Fusion took a bit of getting used to filling it, to make a good bale. The fusion is faster, makes a heavier bale , feeds better and well built. I have a couple of Mchale dealers and they are both good. Kuhn have moved around quite a bit over the last couple of years. I would look again at Kuhn but I’m surprised how happy I am with the fusion.

I was asking a local contractor who owns a fusion and has had a demo of the kuhn what the kuhn was like. He said the fusion would bale alot more grass per hour. Kuhn well built, liked it, but disappointed with the output. Do others find that or maybe it wasn't set up right.

Would bale more per hour as there’s less in the bale if you’re going like a fool
Wrapper on 3D setting will slow you down 5 seconds a bale but that’s a better overlap of wrap where you need it !! So why wouldn’t you do that ?
On same setting as fusion turn 3D off and it will match it , apart from doing a better bale ! Run the fusion and kuhn side by side for 2 weeks , pick up reel and rotor / auger on Kuhn far superior

How many bales are you getting out of a pair of rolls when 3d wrapping? And how many bales do you get from rolls in chamber? for how many turns?

I’d be wondering how many bales you get out of the Baler before it falls apart?? Sure chains, rollers, bearings are all going to give in and who the hell wants a bale that heavy. If I did that to my clients they would run me. Besides how would u make money with so few bales. Im not trying to put you down but having Baler’s myself and knowing what they cost I certainly would not be abusing one.

One way to make money on heavy bales is to charge the customer by the weight (£/ton for example), not the amount. Wrap cost isn't something you can sneeze at.

I said I have bailed that heavy , not wet silage as who wants that sh!t ! That’s seed grass with clover spread out and bailed 24hour wilt
I don’t go like a fool and have had kuhn for 3 seasons now , not been any problems , serviced end of season and greased and oiled regularly
Run McHale for 8 years before that 2 different balers , first one fusion 2 brilliant baler
Second one fusion Vario , pile of shite and cost me a lot of money in 2 years
I do good bales and I’m not the cheapest but they certainly wouldn’t have a Mchale back after the Kuhn been at there farms
I only do 5000 silage 1000 hay and around 2000 straw a year roughly, around 2000 of that is for myself, so not just contracting

Well it’s for our own personal use and yes at them weights for us that was wet silage which actually turned out not that bad quality wise.

Who wants a bale that heavy? Why wouldn't you more in a bale = less wrap less bales so cheaper silage does it not ? .
I'm averaging 1100kg in some damper stuff of ours if I could get more in I would
