Kuhn isobus ITH cable for VB2160 baler issues.

Hello all.

I have a VB2160 baler, tractor has no isobus so came with a ITH cable as shown in the image below.

Cable to the screen got damaged in August so bought a new one.

Since then we have had no power to the baler. Which means no netting.

I've tracked it down to the relay not operating in the black box marked with an arrow. The other photo shows an xray view of that relay box. The box is moulded in rubber with no access to the relays.

What should be activating the power to implement relay? When the control box is switched on it says, and always has done, "This implement does not support stop button:".

Any ideas?

No use to you I’m afraid, but I need another lead so I can use my baler on a second tractor, any idea how much it was.

Which lead? The 3 plugged one into the screen, or the power one with the black box on it?
The first is £250 ish
Second one is £450 ish.

I know nothing about this baler specifically, but I'll give it a crack because I've got nothing better to do.

I assume you've checked all 3 fuses and the earths (both at the chassis connection, but also at the connectors).

1:I assume you've replaced the cable with the box in it?
2:What does connector C4 plug into? The control box in the cab? If so, this is what controls the relays
3:Can you confirm you don't have battery voltage to pin 3 or 4 at connector C3?

Did you compare the old cable to the new one? One would think that if "This implement does not support stop button", the stop relay control pins at connector C4 would need to be re-wired to activate the stop relay.

It's a fairly basic circuit, it'll just be a case of sitting down with the wiring diagram, a filament test light, some paperclips to backprobe the connectors and seeing where there is and isn't power. I'd put money on the issue being a difference in the wiring between the new and old cables.....this is, ofcourse, a guess.

These are the relays that are inside the black box. We cut ours off and used crimp connectors to attach to the relays because we couldn't find a relay holder for the main power one. The relays are activated by the orange and grey wires from plug C4. That plug give more problems than the rest of the baler

Thinking about it,I shall need both,so I just need to move the box in the cab from one tractor to another.
Fairly pricey tho, like everything nowadays 😥
There is another cable that came in the kit I don’t need going spare if any use to anyone.

Ive been thinking about it and i dont remember plug c4 having 5 wires, im sure ours only had 4. Are you sure thats the right wiring diagram. I think the power for relay 2 should be coming from pin 6 on C4, the This implement does not support stop button message came up on ours every start up from new so thats not the problem and ifs its wired to pin 4 it wont work because it literally says its not supported. I definitely think plug c4 is where your problem is, have you still gone your old cable you can copy from. I assume the cable you brought was from kuhn if so i would asking where you got it from why its not working

Just had a look at our new kuhn baler and there are 5 wires in plug C4 but it's different to our old one, much thicker wires and there protected right up to the plug, the old ones weren't. Had a look on mykuhn and the old wire as been replaced by the new. So now I'm not sure 83233190 being the new. Still got to be worth asking the dealer the question

. Yes, its fine.

Wouldn't explain the lack of implement power at the isobus socket though.
Sorry misread your post. It's common for that fuse to blow so wasn't sure if you'd checked it.

All I can suggest is the same make sure your new cable is pinned the same as the old one if that is all that you have changed.
