Just bought a new to me Kuhn varimaster autoreset plough and need some advice on the hydraulic pipes, do I need 4 spools as it seems to have 4 sets of pipes, there's definitely 2 pairs of pipes but I can't figure out weather the other pipes are a pair or separate ? One goes into the valve block ontop of the turnover ram the othe into the auto reset valve block, are they separate pipes or a pair ? I'll apologize now if I'm being stupid !

The pair going to the valve block on the turn over ram need their own spool, you will also have a pair of pipes going to the variowidth ram that need a spool. The auto reset is usually a pipe going to a tap, gauge and accumulator with a single acting pipe, presurise the auto reset, turn the tap, float the valve and remove pipe. Simples

What he and I said :p If you only have 3 spools then remove say front furrow from spool block, pressurise auto reset and remove pipe once done, should last all day

I have plenty of spools, that's not a problem, just couldn't work out weather the other two pipes were a pair or not, one for the autoreset and the other for turnover

You should have 7 pipes 3 pairs and 1 single acting. If its anything like the newer multimasters/varimasters the tip over will be the pair that run to the headstock and then up towards the top of the tip over ram. Should be straight forward working the others out.

I set the auto reset pressure when I had the plough and disconnected the pipe and so far have never had to re set it (circa 3yrs ago) Once I get the various pipes the right way around I use cable ties, different colors 1 tie on the left pipe and 2 on the right pipe.

Yep exactly what I did at the previous farm I worked at. New multimaster 123 came, first day out marking pipes with colour co-ordinated cable ties to match spools
