Kuhn quick fit power harrow tines

Does anyone else have a problem with loosing the little linch pins and tines and holding bar fall out and you loose them in the ground?

This is one of the stupidest set ups I've seen on a machine, so much for 'quick fit'. Resorted to welding the linch pins in and grinding the welds off when tines need changed. Could have changed a set of bolt on tines in half the time and been sure they won't fall off.

Nope not a problem unless you wear the tines down too far and start wearing the holders they can let the bar come out

I'll can count on 1 hand the amount we have lost since our first with quick fit tines in the early 2000's when they came out.

I had 2 sets fall out after having new tines and tine holders. Welder came out after that and I've welded them ever since.

Quick fit 2
How old ? Which tines quick fit 1 or 2 or the latest type?
Quick fit 2 on a 4003 harrow. Not sure of age, early 2000's o think. The old holders were fair battered and chunks missing out of them, started having bother loosing tines and was always just after putting a new set in which p*ssed you off even more!

2 years ago we gave it a big doing up, all new bearings and new tine holders. First 5 acre lost a set of tines. Luckily they clattered about in the machine for a few seconds so I heard it and found them. Back in with new linch pin. 20 acres later a different set of tines missing and no idea where they came off at. After that they were all welded in. Just been reminded how much of PITA the set up is after changing tines again tonight 😂. Really should have gone for bolt on holders rather than changing like for like when we replaced them.

The lynch pins are so strong on ours we have to lever them open when we change our tines

Like all things it's easier when the surfaces are clean, so far I've never have one fall off after changing and they are a damn sight quicker than old fashioned bolt on tines can normally do a set in 20mins

We regularly break time holders among stones but it's bloody rare to lose lynch pins I've got 6 cracked on the 4m just now 3 if which have just drilled 350 acre like that 🤷‍♂️

Maybe I've just been unlucky? We have some stones but nothing serious, never completely broken a holder anyway. I remember having 2 different types of lynch pin but both types lost tines. One type genuine Kuhn the other Pan Anglia. It's Pan Anglia tines were using but wouldn't thought that'd make any difference. The lynch pins are pretty difficult to open, need to lever them with a screw driver. I assumed it be a stone knocking the wire clip off of the lynch pin and letting it fall out.

Not Kuhn but the fast pin change tines on my Amazone are a total pain.
New tines, old tines doesn't matter the lynch pin comes out, and the wriggle the holding pin out and goodbye tines. Told to try them in upside down, and it is better but if the lynch comes out then you stand no chance then. Blob of weld on now, battery grinder at change time and it isn't too bad.
It's getting worse with age so reckon it's a wear issue.

You must be unlucky.ive been running amazone combinations since early 90s and never lost a tine, let alone a pin or linchpin.allways used genuine linchpins and allways have a job to remove them and allways have to use a screwdriver and long nosed pliers.
