Kv lo plough in furrow should it pull in pre turnover?

Hi there , asking for a friend , he’s got an lo plough and moved from on top to in furrow as wet , but has to pull the vari width in every time they turn over as wheel hits? I’ve never used mine in furrow so in able to help?
there is a turn valve on the block but makes no difference? I presumed it would act like a regular plough and pull in pre turn then back out? Is the valve not working ? Or is this an issue.
Thankyou on behalf of him.

Every kv vari width mounted plough I've come across pulls in then turns then out again.

I'm the auto reset E range but I'd assume the shear bolt L range would behave the same

Cheers Nigel, he asked me and I’ve never done it ,in fact my lever has snapped off. It’s honestly not me , I do have a friend (hard to believe).
hope you got through this frustrating harvest ok?
I will have to trouble you for the wheat settings on your Kuhn spreader sometime so I’m pre armed for this year!
hopefully mid October will be lovely and we’ll be flying along with the vaderstad but I should be ready .

Yes I think you are right but this being a onland/ in furrow may be different but like you I think it has to, I suspect the levers turning but not turning the valve ? But it would be nice to know if this is where to look .

I have an Amazone spreader now so don't ask me for Kuhn settings!
I have 50 acres of cultivated laid spring oat stubble/straw which no drill made will go through, so I am going to spin on 6/7T of some old seed and 'disc' in with our Watkins short disc/double press in 10 days or so. Just don't know whether to go at 24m or 36 with the spreader. Whichever, I will check with trays, and try and drill the outer 6m around the headland.

Ah sorry I’m not sure where I got the idea you had a Kuhn?
I’ll ask elsewhere I know longneck did it
Thanks

Think it depends on age. Used a 2009 that didn’t do it automatically, where as a 2014 version did.

We have a 7 furrow LO, if I'm ploughing in furrow you are right you need to narrow up the furrow width before you turn it over unless its a later model LO with a sequencing valve fitted. Easy enough in my Fendt you just program one of the go/end sequences .... I'd suggest most headland managment functions on any tractor will do similar.

Thanks I’ll pass this on ,
I’m always nervous that using the tractors stop go flow settings would not be accurate enough to stop things exactly where they were?
If the vari width ram takes 4 seconds to go from stop to stop , set the tractors timer at say 6 seconds its then fully retracted and fully extended. The vari width ram has an adjustable stopfor the furrow width so shouldnt be an issue.
